find a better bakery...
the place is bright and clean looking. the customer service was ok, though they charged me an extra 50 cents for a credit card charge under $10 (which is illegal by the way).
apparently the cupcake case is refrigerated, I noticed condensation on the goods in there (gross). why would you have to refrigerate them if they're fresh? regardless, my husband and I chose a chocolate cupcake with chocolate icing, my daughters had chocolate chip cookie dough cake pops. due to the refrigeration the frosting was so hard that it couldn't be eaten in the same bite with the cupcake. you had to take a bite of cupcake and break off (yes, BREAK OFF!) a piece of icing to go with it. I have a lot of experience with buttercream as the mother of two girls and a baker myself and this butter tasted stale and it was gritty. the chocolate cake was bland at best. the cake pops were too hard and too sweet. and my whole family who loves sweet treats didn't finish their treats, which I think has never happened before.
I recently ordered a cake here because we wanted a extra nice decoration and saw they do great work on the website. The cake looked really good! The flavor was Raspberry Lemonade. It was a light moistly lemon cake with a flavorful raspberry jam filling. The buttercream was smooth and creamy, not too sweet. I want to try all the flavors of cake, can't wait until the next birthday.
Wonderful Bakery Items - Speciality!!!. We love this bakery!!! Everything from the cake balls, cupcakes, brownies, and coffee to the fab cakes these girls create. And they taste just as good as they look!!! The bakery is beautiful and worth every last calorie!!!
Is this AZ because everything is DRY!. I've had their cookies, cupcakes, cakes, brownies & coconut custard pies on different occasions over the course of 3 years. Needless to say the only item my family & I enjoy are there white chocolate cherry chunk cookies. Their cupcakes and brownies are dense & dry, cakes need to sit at room temp. otherwise they're tasteless, and the coconut custard pie lacks custard & is all coconut & sugar with icing!?! The $20 coconut custard pie was my last straw with The Bake Works. Just another overpriced shop that will only succeed because of its location not because of its products.
Creative cakes. Nice pumpkin pies, big book of specialty cakes great for kids... we had a castle!
CARDBOARD CAKE. IF YOU LIKE THE TASTE OF CARDBOARD...THEN YOU'LL LOVE THIS PLACE...NEEDS A NEW BAKER
