Avoid This Shop. If there were a rating below one star possible, I'd have used it.

I had my transmission and clutch replaced by Northfield Transmission in March of 2011.

Problems started in August of 2011 when the clutch started slipping.

I brought the car to another transmission shop (this one in Texas) who quickly figured out that Northfield Transmission had not actually replaced the entire clutch, just replaced the clutch disc with a refurbished one. This diagnosis was echoed by two other clutch experts in the area independent of one another.

When contact, Northfield Transmission refused to provide any evidence that they'd replaced the clutch, going so far as to refuse to provide an invoice or receipt or even THE NAME OF THE COMPANY they bought the clutch kit from. Sounds like fraud, doesn't it?

I'm currently pursuing a lawsuit against Northfield Transmission for fraud. They fraudulently charged us for an entire clutch kit even though they didn't use a clutch kit on my vehicle, choosing instead to replace the clutch disc and leave the other parts as is.

They have lied to me, my father-in-law, and my current transmission repair shop numerous times, refused to provide any evidence of the clutch repair they did, and actually suggested that my clutch went out because I "let a 16 year old kid drive the car." (I didn't.)

These guys are frauds. They charged me for work they didn't do. They refuse to admit culpability. They've refused to even prove the work they did by showing an invoice or telling us where they bought the clutch kit for.

Don't do business with Northfield Transmission. They'll rip you off.
