Since its 1952 debut in Memphis, Tenn., Holiday Inn has become one of the most recognized hotel brands in the world. Kids rule here: Children age 19 and younger stay for free when sharing a parent's room and as many as four children per family (age 12 or younger) eat for free at hotel restaurants. Other amenities include 24-hour business services, an in-room coffeemaker, iron, hair dryer, room service, a swimming pool and a fitness center.

Have Kids - Will Travel. Restaurant, bar, and rooms were dirty and smelly. Service was mediocre, phone and hair dryer were not working but promptly fixed once reported. Room wasn't cleaned until late afternoon after a call to the front desk asking for fresh towels and linen. Apparently, there is a resource conservation program in place at this hotel so one must indicate that daily service is wanted. A false fire alarm was endured at 4am on Sunday and management did not offer a full explanation or compensation for the horrible inconvenience of having to flee for dear life; waking up kids and grandparents to run down 20 flights of stairs half dressed and barely awake. Seriously doubt we will be returning here regardless of the special walkover packages offered for nearby restaurants and casinos.
