What Our Expert Scouts Say

April 27, 2013

Ten thousand teenagers, and off-duty workers, and families of every kind of put in their hours at this classic, old-time bar, known for its pan pizzas, cheap red wine, and spaghetti. Not much is left of the old, pre-casino Atlantic City, but Tony's is enough.

best za in town! wanna fight about it?. don't let any of these b.s. reviews throw you off. the baltimore grill has the best food in the area. it's cheap, they are open 'til three a.m. and the bar is open all night. i've been eating here since i was in high school and the place hasn't changed a bit, except now they deliver. you wanna be a sissy and get screwed for eatz, go find bobby flay. until then tony's baltimore grill is the only place to go...every once in a while you'll get a mean waitress.

this is pizza?. I can't imagine anyone going there for the pizza, or for anything else..Dirty booths, tired wait staff. You can do better in AC.

Classy Joint. I have frequented this cesspool many times with my chaboy Ellisota and we thought the atmosphere was classy with an old school Rat Packesque feel to it.

The main problem we had was that EVERY SINGLE TIME we had the pizza, the cheese fell off.

Here is a quick quote from my friend.

"Eat the pizza at your own risk, own risk"

Affordable!!!. When my husband and I first entered the place, I was a little bit discouraged. Dim lighting and out-dated decor. Plus we came through the bar side. Looked a little like a truck driver's stop. But it warmed up to me after I sat down and had a great waitress that delivered great service. They told us to pick where we wanted to sit. We picked a a cute lil' booth. All of them had jukeboxes. 7 songs for a buck! Beats New York prices any day!

The food was very inexpensive. My husband ordered the pizza (under $9.00). I had a turkey and cheese sandwhich with lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. Oil and vinegar bottles were on the table... which was great! I love that on my sandwich (under $7.00). Two sodas in tall glasses.

When the food arrived, it smelled good. Looked good. The waitress brought us two small plates to share the pizza (smile). I was definitely getting a piece of husband's pizza! My sandwhich wasn't a small thing either. It was a little more than half a hero! And a pickle on the side! I love it! hehehehe

The pizza was on point! The sauce and the cheese were great. The crust was similar to the Scicilian type square pizzas you get in New York., just a little bit thinner. It was phenomenal. My husband kept moaning with each bite. I ate 1 slice and my hero, he at 7 SLICES!!!!

This is a place we would definitely visit again. I strongly suggest this place to families and people who want to make their dollar last... because a dollar's value can get lost in Atlantic City. This place has great service and food quality beyond your buck. Don't judge a book by it's cover.

Pizza, "Secret Recipe" Sausage, Roast Beef Sandwich and Italian/Seafood Meals; SIMPLY THE BEST THERE IS. Tony's has been a long-standing favorite in our family since my grandfather, Henry Jay lived on St. Charles Place in the 1950's and 1960's. I don't think I need to tell anyone who knows good food that Tony's is one of the best landmarks in Atlantic City. My family and I have tremendously savored the food here that remains consistent year after year. If you go on a summer weekend, you can be prepared to wait in a line that travels around the corner of the place, but this just adds to the anticipation of the great food within.

The interior is classicly date by today's standard, however, one quickly gets lost in the aroma of the delicious food served here. The famous pizza has a thin, crispy crust with sweet tomato sauce and can be ordered with all the traditional toppings. The white clams and spaghetti are the best I have ever eaten. The cold roast beef sandwiches are served on hard crusted home made italian bread loaded with thinly sliced meat, a real favorte of mine!

Where many restaurants in Atlantic City are pricey, this place has meals that are incredibly affordable, so much so that families are often seen dining together here. Tony's is open all year long and into the early morning hours which makes it a great spot to eat no matter the time.

Excellent Pizza, Great service, Juke Box & Booths -like old philly!!! don't miss the bread and Spaghetti!. We heard from several friends ( they love the Crab Cakes) that we should try this place. We took our in-laws and the place is very retro

which added to the feeling(charm) of being in Atlantic City pre Casinos(very comfortable). Our waitress was very attentive and treated us like she had known us for years, the bread (excellent) and beverages were there instantly.

The main courses followed quickly, tasty and hot. We tried several items and all were great.

We have had pizza all over the world and this rates with the best (light chewy crispy crust, slightly sweet /tangy sauce and just the right amount of cheese). The pasta sauce is very tasty , the pasta was firm not over cooked.

If you are looking for flash and glitz , go elsewhere., but if you are looking for honest value and a truly tasty meal at low prices you can not go wrong.

Clean restrooms and affordable prices, great food, what more do you need?

We wish it was nearer our home, we would be regulars.

Over rated pizza. We were not in the mood for a full meal recently so we stopped in at the Baltimore Grill for pizza. Based on the location and decor I would never have chosen this restaurant except that I had read numerous favorable comments on this and other websites. There have been numerous accolades with respect to this being the place for the best "New York style" pizza on the shore. I don't think so. We were very disappointed - the sauce was nothing short of bland and the crust lacked the chew expected from a coal or wood fired oven.

Best Pizza Around by Far! Friendly Service and Nice 24 hour Bar with tske-out. Tony's is by the Tropicana Casino. Friendly neighborhood place where you can place your take out food order and have a quick drink at their bar. Or you can bring the family to eat in their dining room. Tony's is a throw back with individual juke boxes at every booth. The Pizza is great as is the Roast Beef and Pasta dishes ...... The bar is open 24 hours and the kitchen closing at 3am ..... They also do package goods take out - great to pick up a bunch of Pizza Pies and a 12 pack for the hotel room or beach ..... !!!!! A must visit place when in A.C.
