Worst customer service ever, ordered 2 pizzas which were delivered 2 hours and 20 minutes later, and was cursed out by manager for inquiring
Worst dining experience ever.. This place is a crime against humanity. Why and how places like this manage to stay in business and their ignorant owner stays rich is beyond me. But people like this owner should not be rewarded for their ugliness. Save yourself, don't eat here, eat anywhere else.
Excellent NY Style Pizza. This was the find of our recent trip to Atlantic City. We enjoyed slices of mozzarella pizza to go. The slices were large, the crust thin and the toppings achieved the desired balance between cheese and sauce. On top of that lunch was a downright bargain
If you want to be treated like dirt, go to Jo Jo's!. The only thing worse than Jo Jo's food are their rude and disrespectful servers and their horrible owner. They may have a monopoly on Italian food in the Ventnor/Margate area, but soon enough they will be out of business and I will celebrate!
Terrible Treatment of Customers. We go to Jo-Jo's all the time in the summer because it's easy, casual and one of the only family-friendly places to go in Ventnor. The last couple times we went, however, we were treated really poorly. I mean the owner argued with me about the fact that the menu says there are fresh roma tomatoes on one of their pies--even though there aren't. I was just trying to order that pie and he kept telling me I was "wrong" about it and that the pie doesn't have the tomatoes. I asked if it was possible to get those tomatoes on it, and he got even madder. He was kind of nasty about it. No explanations from him about why no tomatoes, of course. Then my family and I went again and we were told that we were "taking over the place, and putting our feet up, and getting up too many times," and so on. Please believe me when I say that we were sitting in our booths very nicely the whole time. I had to get up to get plates, utensils and straws though because the snotty 15-year old waitress was always in the corner, for some reason, snickering at us with the other waitress. When I gave my feedback to the owner, he told me that I must not be a business person and that I have no idea how to run a business and that he didn't want our "kind of business". By the way, the subs there are okay, but the pizza is not too great. That day there wasn't even any sauce on the pizza.
How Jo Jo's Ruined by Daughter's Birthday.
For my daughter's 2nd birthday, we thought it would be fun to have the family start out our day with an early (11 AM) lunch - including pizza and sandwiches. We had 22 people, including seven kids ages 4 and under. You would think this would be some good business for Jo Jo's, and they would be interested in serving us with a smile - and maybe even keeping us happy. You would be wrong . . .
We have never been treated as poorly as we were treated at that restaurant that day. The attitude we were given as we tried to patronize the restaurant was appalling. We were not looking for any extraordinary service - just some paper plates to go with our pizza, and perhaps a knife or napkin. Apparently this was too much to ask of our server who wanted nothing to do with us, and glared at us with attitude if we ever stood up in the blessed isle for a moment. Oh - by the way - the server got a $25 "built-in" tip for treating us this way.
The only thing worse than how we were treated by the server is how we were treated by the owner - whose attitude was basically that they do plenty of business, so they don't care if we're happy or not, and he doesn't want our business anyway. That's fine - he won't be getting our future business, and I hope he doesn't get your business either.
Even before this experience, we've always been unhappy with the attitude we've gotten from the staff of this restaurant and the fact that they are blatantly overpriced for the very ordinary food they provide. The reason we would continually go back was for its convenient location relative to our summer digs. We are now sufficiently appalled by the way Jo Jo's operates. No one should patronize a restaurant that operates in this manner.
