I love it!

The hotel by itself is a peace of art. The rooms are spacious and beautifull. The restaurants offers the greatest dishes. My favorite is the OLD HOMESTEAD STEAKHOUSE, but IZAKAYA or SEABLUE are very good too. OK, I love this hotel.

SLOT PLAYERS STAY AWAY!!!

Borgata has been my house of gambling since the day it opened. I have a four day work, which leaves me a lot of free time. I have made frequent trips to the Borgata the past few years, about once every two or three weeks,

The service and comped rooms are never a problem. I have never been turned down, not even at the last minute.

This is where it gets ugly.

When Borgata first opened, the slots were very loose. ( even J lo's mom won 1 million dollars), you could always gamble for hours on end, never a big win, but always a good play for your buck.

But ever since they started building the new tower, and the revenue decline in Atlantic city 2007, the slot play has become horrible out right disgusting.

the machines have definitely been tightened beyond comprehension. While this may not be apparent to the once in while gambler, as a routine gambler its almost impossible to win now at the Borgata.

My biggest problem is that I didn't see it coming until $12,000 down over a three month period starting Nov. 2007 till present.

The slots eat money like water. The high roller room buzzes with winners for about 10 minutes on a Saturday nite and then goes dead. Lots of sad frustrated high rollers just looking at their face tells you things have gotten very tight.

Its sad to see that the borgata once an beacon in the fog has turned tight like all the rest. Take my advice if you want a casino to gamble stay the hell away from the borgata until they loosen up, which looks like it wont be anytime soon.

not to mention the new 20 something crowd the casino is catering to, loud noisy drunk kids running up and down the slot aisle, not something to hear or watch while your losing your shirt.

Casino not for players

I went back to the Borgata after being away for a year and it's turned into a poor exp for those of us who enjoy gaming. Yes, some of us like to gamble and don't want or need the belly shots at the bar to have a good time. We're into the casino, gaming, card and dice.

The first thing I've noticed is that the rooms/suites have become run down and dirty. The casino hosts and casino staff are not nice if not down right rude. The casino is filled with drunk kids and I saw stuff go on in a casino that would not be tolerated in Las Vegas or other Atlantic City casinos.

I think the Borgata has turned into a 20 somthing hangout for those that like to act like animals, get drunk, fight, get sick in the halls and trash the rooms.

The Borgata is NOT for the serious player or anyone who is used to Las Vegas style gaming. How are they making money when any serious player will not go back again once they see what the place has become?

• Pros: I hear they are trying to improve service, I have not seen it
• Cons: Poor service, security in casino, a lot of drunk kids, rude staff

THE BEST ITALIAN BISTRO IN THE COUNTRY....PERHAPS EVEN ITALY!!

I'm putting this review in the hotel section because Citysearch does not recognize this restaurant in the Borgata. Ombra is the most important new Italian restaurant that I have visited in the last year; Luke Palladino and his staff deserve accolades for their creativity and dedication to authenticity. The main menu is exceptional and every dish is solid and worth having; however, what makes this restaurant truly outstanding and unique is the bar/bistro area and it's separate bar/happy hour menu. Please go with a good friend and try as many of the 'Italian tapas" that you can eat. For example, the fritelle (fried spaghetti, salami, and pecorino cheese shaped into puffy squares), the arancini (risotto fritters stuffed with cheese, black truffle and scallion), the pasticiatti (soft polenta, sausage, and gorgonzola) cooked in its own little kettle, the salamis, cheeses, etc, etc. The wine list is extensive, wine by the glass is well represented. You can sit at the bar or in the bar area and have complete dinners with decanted (by the sommelier) wine from the main menu; but the bistro menu is unique and the best "Italian comfort food" that I have ever eaten in the United States. The service/staff is excellent; go back a second time and I bet that they will remember what you had the last visit...even the wine that you drank. Luke Palladino needs to bring this bistro concept to Las Vegas; much like the quality and fun of Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris Hotel or Artisinal in New York City that was the brainchild of Terrance Brennan (Picholine) and his fromagier Max McCallan, this concept of Italian Bistro fare could recreate the passion and joy of eating Italian cooking in the United States.

• Pros: Quality, away from the "bus tour business" at the Boardwalk, superb service
• Cons: A little tough to navigate the casino floor the first time there.

Beautifully done

Best casino in Atlantic City by far. Steve Wyn really took Vegas to AC, which was a very difficult task. For a great casino experience you can't beat Bellagio or Venetian, but the Borgata is by far the best of the East Coast. And much more practical seeing as its only a drive from NYC, PA, etc.

Best Room I've Seen In AC

even the basic room is really well done. nice furniture, look and comfort. the only problem is that it is hard to get a room at times and can be really expensive. the restaurants are all really good, but also expensive.

Sets the standard

We had not gone to Atlantic City for several years do to the terrible gambling conditions and inferior condition of most of the Boardwalk casinos. This all changed upon the construction of Borgata which raised the bar by a factor of 5 when it opened. We received an offer for a free night and decided to give Borgata a try since I had hear its video poker was better than the norm. We were delighted by the overall hotel/casino at every level from architecture, lobby, service, rooms, gambling and restaurants.

• Pros: Beautiful casino/rooms, high quality restaurants
• Cons: Very expensive

Presents a New Face for AC

AC is generally lackluster in filling grand gambling dreams but, the Borgata is hopefully a new generation of hotels in AC. The Borgata is designed with luxury in mind. The complete marble bathroom at the suite we stayed in was huge with dual sinks, bath built for two, clear shower, closet and vanity table all in one. The view was panoramic. The hotel and gambling floor itself are upscale. There are tons of great restaurants and the cafeteria of food offereings is absolutely beautiful in full white marble and white lighting. If you're a guest, head to the indoor pool and outdoor lounge area which will make you feel as if you've been partially transported to old world European charm. Overall, a must try. I loved it.

Abundance is the name of the game at this luxury resort hotel, casino and spa.

Totally Awesome

After having been in several hotels in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, I must say The Borgata is far superior to any other. Rooms are unbelievable with beds that can't be beat. The restaurants are the best, and the casino - what can I say, the best slots anywhere.
